1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Pixmech ("I", "me", "my") handles information in connection with the SOSMSapp ("the App"). I take your privacy seriously and am committed to protecting your personal data.

2. Data Collection

SOSMS collects the following types of data to provide its functionality:

  • Server log files: browser type, OS, ISP domain, IP address (anonymized after 14 days)
  • Location data when you send an emergency message (shared with your emergency contact and optionally published online)
  • Cookies for website functionality and optional analytics

3. Analytics & Tracking

The App may use third-party analytics and crash reporting services to help improve performance and user experience. These services collect anonymized usage data and do not include personal information.

You can manage tracking through iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Maps — displays interactive maps and location data on the SOSMS website, subject to Google's Privacy Policy
  • Technical service providers — may process data as part of website hosting and maintenance

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Storage & Security

All data you create within the App is stored locally on your device. If you delete the App, all associated data will be permanently removed from your device.

Data transmitted between the App and external services is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS). I implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Privacy Rights

You have control over your information. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings, limit analytics tracking through iOS Privacy settings, and delete all app data by removing the App from your device.

If you are in the European Union, you have rights under the GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and the right to object to processing. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know, delete, and opt-out of data sale (note: I do not sell data).

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact me and I will promptly delete it.

8. Additional Information

SOSMS is a free emergency broadcasting service. The website collects general server log data (browser type, OS, IP address) for stability and security purposes under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. IP addresses in log files are deleted or anonymized after 14 days. The website uses technically necessary and optional cookies — you can manage cookie consent at any time. When you use the emergency feature, your location is shared with your chosen emergency contact and optionally published on the SOSMS page. Data is processed in accordance with GDPR. 9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
